We have tried to pack in a gazillion things this week. I have been able to take my niece and nephews to church with me this past few weeks and they love it!!! I wasn't sure how well they would as we have changed churches since they last attended but I should not have worried. They look forward to going each week and if I am lucky on Wednesday nights also. One of my nephews got to stay with me from Wednesday through to Saturday noon. Even then he almost cried when he had to go home.
This was his Cross tattoo Ms. Marsha let him have. He was sporting it proudly.
We found out he was an ace at playing Barrel of Monkeys.
He has no problem hamming it up for the camera.
And I will leave you hanging to see the pics from the rest of his visit....you don't wanna miss....little boy and cute puppies....too cute for words!!!

Growing Up Too Fast

I remember as a preteen all anxious to hurry up and become a teenager. When I finally became one the next goal was to hurry up and be 16. Of course then the goal was 18 then 21. It seems I was always wanting to grow up, get out, conquer the world. Now there are days I want to go back to those teen years, move back home and to be honest conquering the house work and laundry would be heavenly so I would have time to wash my car. Funny how all that seemed to come back and bite me in the behind. It's also funny that no matter how old I get (and I am not saying I am old) I still feel like a little girl in a big world. I look like I have it together mainly because someone around my neck of the woods over here needs to....but on the inside I am still that unsure child wondering about her future and how things will turn out. The difference now is that I have my own teenager finding her wings. The more she stretches them the more I want to hold on to her so very tightly but I know I cannot. This life is her journey. I can only guide and pray that she makes all the very best decisions (some with my help of course for the time being). This summer marks her first pay taxes job. She has been volunteering at the library on Wednesday Storytime and when the spot came open it was offered to her. I am so excited and proud for her. We filled out her application this week and in the middle of it I just thought I was going to bawl like a baby.
Where did my little girl go? I am just not ready for her to be so grown up.
Where did my little girl go? I am just not ready for her to be so grown up.
This was the last week for her volunteer work until she starts her job in May. She will have her hands full helping with the Summer Reading Program. She will miss one week for a mission trip/camp with the youth at church and that almost made them change their mind but she has really impressed them and they decided she could still have the job.
I usually do not stay at the library while she volunteers so as not to intrude on her "space" and to show that I know she doesn't need a baby sitter but since this was the last day I indulged in browsing all the wonderful books. I walked out with 7 checked out. Three were cookbooks, one on Rose bush care, one nifty little one about things a used bookseller found over the years in books and two on dog and puppy care.
Afterwards we had a wonderful lunch together at a local cafe, hit the local Walmart for mostly stuff we could have done without and enjoyed a wonderful Wednesday evening at church.

I really just want to say how excited I am to have been accepted to be on the Creative Team for Hidden Vintage Studios at Deviant Scrap. These ladies are uber talented and are helping fill a niche that provides those of us who love vintage images with wonderful yumminess for either our digital journal page or mixed media ones. Very high quality and let's face it~they find it and we get the full benefit of using them w/o all the hard work. That's some serious time saving there. Of course I am itching to go flea market shopping and the first thing on my list of goodies are vintage photographs. So without further ado I would like to show off 2 new goodies from these ladies.
I used Almost Alice for this one. Full color and sepia toned pngs included along with jpeg printable sheets. Clicking on the image will take you to the gallery for full credits.
I had a blast creating this one with May Flowers. It's filled with lovely ladies
holding flowers in both color and sepia tones. Jpeg printables are included. Clicking on the image will take you to the gallery for full credits.
Please feel free to come post in the gallery or link up if you create a page using these divine new images. I love to be inspired!!!!

This just purely a fun page. Sometimes a girl just wants to get away from it all. We spend so much time caring for others instead of ourselves and I can't think of anything better except to find some big blue skies and a wide open space to just feel free from all of life's demands for at least a short time.
I used Clementines Designs Are We There Yet? kit available at Deviant Scrap.
I totally love the retro feel this kit has~reminds me of when I was a child with a lot less cares. Clicking on the photo will take you to the gallery for the full credits.
Thanks for taking a peek and if you make a page with this kit~link me up cuz I would love to see what you did.

I have a new goodie to share with you from Lilacs in Bloom today. I am a bit late in posting as I have been at the hospital with my Mom for emergency surgery and then we had some complications~so without any more fanfare...
Here is something I created for Gina aka Lilacs in Bloom at Shabby Pickle. I used her newest packages of masks called Baby Blooms Vol 4 available at Shabby Pickle Designs. I also used her This is Me Kit that's a collab between her and Boutique Cute Doll. Clicking the photo will take you to the gallery for the full credits.
So hop on by and give these a twirl~they are super fun to play with!

Friday (4/6)
Spending way too much time over at Deviant Art tonight~I find these interesting and somewhat disturbing but yet still again more interesting in the concept. It's called Baby Bottles.
Saturday (4/7)
It's hard to believe its Easter weekend.
Playing Words with Friends is very counter productive to getting my bedroom/bathroom cleaned today.
In the 4 years we have had out bedroom set I have never moved my bed to vacuum under it. There's lots of junk shoved under the hubby's side. The $20 was in the middle. Finders keepers right?
Bullets instead of Easter eggs. Hubby likes this better. — withChris Smith and Shaina Smith at Long Range Alley Gun Club.
Wednesday (4/11)
Today's household headline-> Death of Laptop ~ Official Autopsy Results In Tomorrow
I always wonder how to sum up a day~apparently on FB it's pretty darn easy. I am too tired to really blog~too aggravated to want to sit at this desktop esp after being spoiled to my laptop and just really darn pissed off that I lost some scrap pages that I created mere minutes before the death of my beloved laptop. I will embellish upon some of the above disasters one at at time this coming week. Can your life be summed up in FB status's also?

Room 111-Mama's appendix comes out today. — with Lawanda and Shaina at Christus Highland.
Monday (4/9)
Mama is home. DD is chilling out with her for a few days and I am all showered and finally in my very own bed tonite. It's been a good day.
Tuesday (4/10)
Well it looks like the power supply cord to my laptop just kicked the bucket. I WILL be in possession of a new one tomorrow if I am lucky.

Babbling a bit

I had planned on a post tonight about our new puppies but instead spent time redoing photos that tinypic had decided to delete or move...grrrr. That is the very reason I quit using my Photobucket account. Oh well, nothing is perfect definitely not the glitchy world of the net.
Other than the internet issues the only big news for me today was getting DH to sort out Easter plans with his oldest DD. She goes to church once with his sister and calls to invite us to her baptism that is on Easter. I have never in my life seen anyone baptized on Easter and I know she is excited but she has spent YEARS not in our lives and with all the issues with his other kids I have decided to just not drop or stop my life or plans for them anymore. Maybe over time if the relationship proves to be sincere in intentions I will be much more flexible but for now this is just the way it is going to have to be.
I am going to finish the rest of the night doing some scrapping and watching our netflix movies that came in the mail. Currently running on the tv is Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2. I am giggling my hiney off. So good night my friends!!!

Oh what a relief today is! Even though I home school I still have my daughter tested to make sure she is mastering basic skills. It's actually more for me than for her. With the scores in hand I can know where to put more focus on in our studies. Today marked the final day of our 2 days of testing. This does not end our school year as we are basically going year round. Now don't freak out about that idea. We school 3 days a week at the very least with one day for her volunteer service at the local library and one day to catch up if needed.
In between we catch all the breaks the local public schools do and if something else arises it's no biggie to take another break. I find this way we don't ever really get behind nor do we get burned out. We enjoy the wonderful days of nice weather and hunker down inside for school when it's too cold or unbearably hot.
So now we play the waiting game~but we are not worried at all. In fact, we are busy planning our end of the year home school group trip to New Orleans. I am so excited!!!! But before we go we have one more big car wash/bake sale that (fingers crossed) will keep us from having any out of pocket expenses.
I am definitely thinking that at this point in the day that it's time for a tiny little power nap before I get to the neglected laundry and bit of house work waiting on me. :D Wish me luck in waking up and not sleeping the day away!!!!

About Me
- Balinda (RebelChick)
- Just an everyday girl trying to find my way in the world to live life fiercely and passionately. I was a signature tagger for several years but art journaling has replaced that passion and it feeds my soul creativiely and spiritually. I also homeschool my DD, scrapbook, play around in photography, spoil my cats and drive my hubby insane on a daily basis. My faith in the Lord helps me juggle all these blessings. I keep this blog because it makes me happy. Sometimes I blog a lot and other times it collects a little dust. Thanks for visiting and being my friend.♥
