PostHeaderIcon Homeschooling and Art Journal Letter

Just when it seems life might calm a little bit something always rears it's head. My DD sorta just "floats" between mine and the ex's house. I just don't feel like 2 weekends a month is enough time to build relationships and memories with either of us. Do I like sharing her with him...no not really, but it's not about me. It's about her and her relationship with him and the rest of his side of the family. Anyhow, she has been over there for a couple of months and it was getting time for her to come back this way some. Before I could tackle that conversation I found out my DD has been bullied AGAIN at school on Monday and Tuesday. The was the absolute last straw with me and I somehow FINALLY got my ex to agree to letting me homeschool her. I go in the morning to unenroll her from the school and make my complaints against the school system and lack of supervision to keep my child safe. I really pray that I can keep my cool and not let them piss me off so that I look like some over reacting parent. Pray! Pray! Pray! is my mantra at the moment.

I did get another page done for my Art Journal. Yeah Me!!!!!

I finally got my letter done up that we are supposed to keep in the front of our Art Caravan Journals. It's not really a letter I suppose but it will be more than effective for me to continue on my quest this year and not fall off of my camel, which by the way I still haven't been able to catch.....much less give a name =0

PostHeaderIcon Weekend Journal Page and a couple LO's

I am pretty excited that I am keeping up with the itinerary on the Art Journal Caravan. The only thing I still need to do is my letter to myself to keep me motivated during the year for my book.

Here is my Week 5 page.

Fonts Used in order were
Cherish
Pea Mystie Unicase
Pristina
SketchFlow Print
Scarlet Ribbons
Tekton Pro
Good Vibrations ROB
Pea Jane
A & S Signwriter

Even though my page is of a simple design, I did go outside my comfort zone and do an 8.5 x 11 page instead of my old trusty 12x12 size. Many things in my life have been those "ah-ha" moments but these are some of the top ones that have made me pause and just savor the moments.

a queen and loves me when I am unlovable
i truly realized that life is not a
race...it's the journey and the legacy that
I leave behind for my children and children's children.

These next 2 pages are Creative Team pages. Beth is great to have all sorts of mediums to work with. I have not worked much with poser's etc but I am super happy about my pages and it really stretches me creatively. Image and video hosting by TinyPic

PostHeaderIcon iPhone photos and the weekend

I started last weekend helping my friend Sammy move from her 5BR double wide mobile home to this teensy tiny 2BR apartment. It's not easy to decide what's important to take to the apartment when it all seems important. When I first showed up she was in her scrapbook room almost in tears being so overwhelmed. So I just sorta took charge and we ended up getting alot of her things at least boxed and sorted into storage or apartment or I am not sure just yet piles. My solution for her scrapbook stuff is to take it all to the apartment and sort through and see what she just can't live without and then bring the rest to a nook over here in my craft room. I don't do paper scrapping so it all holds no allure for me. I am perfectly content with my digital set up I have going for me. Don't get me wrong, I have traditional stuff but just a little for the hybrid project here and there. Some of you may think this photo is a bit morbid but if you knew her mother, you would understand it's not. Her mom was cremated and for years she carried her around in this beautiful box. When her Grandmother passed away/or her Grandfather, I forget..she buried her mother's ashes with them. She kept just a bit I think because her mother would haunt her if she didn't keep a part of her with her. She also has not found the "right" home for these bit of ashes. So in the moving, somehow Linda took the ride with me from her daughter's old house to her new apartment. Somehow I think I should be a bit weirded out by it but strangely I am not. I think it's just because I knew Linda and know that she would think it was a grand adventure for the afternoon.

These are actually some of my P365 photos I have taken...just not in any particular order. I think I will try to start posting them everyday. Mostly because it's just a good way to keep track of memories for scrapping and it's just plain fun. This is one of my cats Ghost watching the white stuff fall out of the sky.

I finally got an iPhone. I had heard rave reviews about Hipstamatic app. OMGosh!!!
It is sooo much fun and takes the wickedest photos!! All of these were taken today.

And these this afternoon in Stonewall at her old house. I love the moodiness of them. It' also helped it was getting a little bit cloudy and close to dusk. She is so gonna miss the country living.

I would love any suggestions on some more fun apps esp the photography and exercise ones.

PostHeaderIcon On a Roll! 2 New Pages =)

Today was a really nasty day. With the terrible blizzard storm moving through so many states we are lucky to just get rain and cold weather. I stacked tons of firewood on the back porch last night for (1) I like a cozy fire and (2) I want to be prepared in case the electric goes and I can at least stay warm. I might build one in a little bit when I am here in the living room to stay but while I am up and around the house I will leave it be. My poor hubby is stuck up in Missouri (we live in La.) on his job. He didn't work today, which is not good but he is supposed to be sent to Indiana in the morning for some work. He does powerline construction so I am sure he might be staying busy. I am hoping for to make up the day of work he missed AND maybe a bit of overtime pay. I still haven't taken my P365 photos off of my camera...NOTE to self...just get it done!!!!

I spent a lovely hour over at Scrapbookgraphics gabbing with the ladies in the chatroom. I remember the first time I went. I was petrified. How does a newbie fit in when everyone seems friends already. From the first moment I felt very welcome. They host a game and issue a chatroom scrapping challenge for which you can win some prizes. But I think the most fun of all is getting to know everyone and trying to type while I giggle. So if you are not doing anything on Tuesdays at 9 pm EST...you should hop on over to SBG and peek in.

I am excited to say that I won this weeks chat challenge (it's all randomly picked) with my Twilight page. I have been meaning to scrap this photo since I had taken it and am very pleased with how it turned out.

I am also very pleased with my art journal page I did for Itinerary 4 in the Art Journal Caravan at SBG. What came to mind when I think of the word Stretch? There were other prompts I could have chosen but this on spoke to me.

I have scrapped/art journal more in January than I did the whole last half of 2010. I am finding that the art journaling really enhances my scrapping in a way totally unexpected. I think it is because there are really no rules you have to follow on your art journal pages and they are giving me a chance to express myself in a way that is both artistic and cathartic.

Thanx for popping by my blog and taking a peek!

About Me

My Photo
Balinda (RebelChick)
Just an everyday girl trying to find my way in the world to live life fiercely and passionately. I was a signature tagger for several years but art journaling has replaced that passion and it feeds my soul creativiely and spiritually. I also homeschool my DD, scrapbook, play around in photography, spoil my cats and drive my hubby insane on a daily basis. My faith in the Lord helps me juggle all these blessings. I keep this blog because it makes me happy. Sometimes I blog a lot and other times it collects a little dust. Thanks for visiting and being my friend.♥
