Love is a Battlefield with Edgar Allan Poe
I never expected that after my last posting that I would take so long to post again but that's what happens when the husband "shares" his cold. The horrid awful thing about it though was that I nursed my daughter through hers and I did not get sick. I have taught her well the "rules of quarantine" for our home. I have the unfortunate luck that when I get sick....I get REALLY sick!!! Seriously....death bed sick!! My husband failed to really realize that. I loved on him by cooking homemade tomato soup, ooey gooey grilled cheese sandwiches, bag fulls of medications all the while trying to keep a safe buffer zone. He did not follow the rules of "no touch". Not only did he not follow that rule, he expressed his gratitude for all the comfort I lovingly provided by sharing big hugs and kisses on the cheek....several times.....and yes.....me screaming like he had the ebola virus to get away and love me from afar.
Sooooo.....I got caught with a cold BIG time and then with the weather changing add some sinus headaches to the mix and I have been pretty non-functional for 3 weeks. I am very much grateful that I have been feeling good enough to get up piddle about some again.
In between feeling alive and dead I was able to get the creative juices flowing and created this page using CryztalRain's Edgar Allan Poe kit from Micheif Circus. I totally did not see this one evolving until I was halfway through because I so wanted to do more of a haunting spooky type page but as all you art journalers know......we create the way our heart leads us. I still love it even though it's not what I set out to create.
The quote reads Love is a Battlefield • Heartache to Heartache We Stand • Love is a Battlefield inspired by Pat Benatar and the font used is Telescoping by Tangie Baxter.
I will leave you with this beautiful ballad and who knows...it might inspire you also. ♥

I am super excited to show you CryztalRain's newest set of brushes. They are grungy and oh so wonderful to use for blending.
You can pick them up here at Deviant Scrap. Included with the brushes are png files if you prefer to work with them instead.

Here's what I created with them. It's one of my favorite pages ever. *I do think I will be going back and turning it into a wallpaper.*

Till Death Do Us Part
The inspiration for this page comes from the skull brushes that I used from CryztalRain's Slighly Sinsister Brush and Image Pack @ Deviant Scrap. Society has made it too easy to call it quits after a commitment of marriage has been made. The vows get forgotten. This page is as much as a reminder to me as well. To many times I get so angry at my husband over some of the silliest things that should not even be a big deal. It's been easy for us to get busy in life and forget that our relationship with each other is just as and more important than all the things the world is throwing at us.

Pretty Pages Never Shared.....
Operation Take Charge of my Life is going good this week. I made it a point to get some time in on the treadmill. I thought it was going to kill me. But I did do it. I am going to start a food journal tomorrow. I am contemplating going on a weekend juice fast to cleanse some of the toxins out of my system from all the crappy food I have eaten all summer. I still need to do some research on it before totally making my mind up.
I have found some pages on my laptop that I created awhile back. The first one is one I made using CryztalRain's Reduce Reuse Recycle kit @ Deviant Scrap. It's just a fun reminder that we need to take care of our environment better. Clicking the image will take you to the gallery for full credits.

DragonLore Love
Today I was supposed to be leaving for my brother's house to spend the night so my SIL could take me to the DFW airport tomorrow. Not happening. Tornado watches and warnings are making it too yucky along with flash flooding and heavy rain fall. So I will be heading out early in the am. Something I did not want to do at all. But what must be will be, right? I will definitely be in Vegas Wednesday night though with my Scrap Orchard girlies...Woot! woot!!
But before I head out I wanted to share the page I made with CryztalRain's newest collection DragonLore available at Deviant Scrap. It's just a delicious kit with loads of dragons, medieval ephemera, softened by touches of greenery and as always the most beautiful papers that range from scenic to great scenes for a fantasy LO. I paid homage to my ♥ for reading. I don't get to travel often so I find that if I just immerse myself into a great book, it's like I am really there. The world stops turning and I really get to visit other places. The imagination and the mind are such powerful thing.
Just click on the image to see the full credits.

Butterfly Clusterz #2 from the talented CrztalRain
CryztalRain has released some fabulous new butterfly brushes this week~ Butterfly Clusterz #2 at Deviant Scrap. The png's are included if you don't want to use the brush format. I had such
a wonderful time playing around with these. The background on my piece is nothing
but brushwork and blending modes. I did find through playing a bit and giving my layers
a very slight shadow such as one you would give acrylic elements really helped
pop things up a bit and give it some "texture". As soon as I am able I will try to get this
one printed on a canvas for my art room in addition to a copy of it going into my art journal.
Other elements used in the piece are from CryztalRain's Art Therapy and Word Art pack.
I ♥ those kits. They are also available at Deviant Scrap. =D

Doing the Happy Dance! I got accepted to CrystalRain's CT!!!!
I applied a bit ago to be on CrystalRain's (formerly Totally Wild Dezines)creative team at her Deviant Scrap Store and by some stroke of fantastic luck she let me come on board (insert big cheesy happy grin). She has the most awesome of brushes and elements and an already talented group of ladies on her CT. I have not done brush work in awhile...well not since my days of making signature tags and in paint shop pro. And most definitely not too much in photoshop so I am more than a wee bit nervous but most definitely up to the challenge to show off her great products and push my creative limits all at the same time.
And if you are up to the challenge and want to get some pointers from her, she has a great interview in this month's Deviant Muse. It's the Deviant Scrap's store free ezine. It's packed jam full of tuts, challenges and eye candy to get those creative juices flowing like there's no tomorrow. And the best part of all is that it's FREE!!!! So run over and pick up your copy right HERE. January through May are also available at the rock bottom price of free also. The doors are always open and the light's even on so you don't stub a toe pushing that cart full of goodies to the check out.
Thanks for popping by!!!

About Me
- Balinda (RebelChick)
- Just an everyday girl trying to find my way in the world to live life fiercely and passionately. I was a signature tagger for several years but art journaling has replaced that passion and it feeds my soul creativiely and spiritually. I also homeschool my DD, scrapbook, play around in photography, spoil my cats and drive my hubby insane on a daily basis. My faith in the Lord helps me juggle all these blessings. I keep this blog because it makes me happy. Sometimes I blog a lot and other times it collects a little dust. Thanks for visiting and being my friend.♥
